About The InsightsOut Africa Creative Hubs Research Study
The study focuses on how creative hubs operate in Nigeria’s different regional markets and how they pursue social impact alongside financial sustainability. It will examine the contribution of these hubs to Nigeria’s creative economy and to the wider African creative ecosystem.
For this study, a creative hub may be a physical, virtual, or hybrid space that brings creative people together and supports practitioners, entrepreneurs, startups, or creative enterprises. The research also covers organisations with related structures and functions, including collectives, cooperatives, laboratories, incubators, creative spaces, and creative networks.
Participants will provide information about the creative hub or organisation they own, lead, manage, or operate. Their responses will contribute practical evidence about how these organisations function, the value they create, the challenges they face, and the conditions required for long-term sustainability.

Eligible Participation Categories
The survey is designed for people who have an organisational leadership, management, ownership, or operating role within an eligible creative hub or related organisation. The relevant categories are:
- Creative Hub Owners: Owners of eligible creative hubs in Nigeria may provide information about their hub’s activities and operations.
- Hub Directors: Directors may share information about their hub’s impact, challenges, opportunities, and approach to sustainability.
- Hub Managers: Managers of eligible hubs may participate where they have relevant knowledge of the organisation’s work and operations.
- Leaders Of Creative Collectives And Networks: Leaders of creative collectives, cooperatives, networks, and similar organisations may take part in the study.

- Participants must be an owner, director, manager, leader, or operator of the represented organisation.
- Participants must have relevant knowledge of the organisation’s activities and operations.

- Eligible organisations may include creative hubs, collectives, cooperatives, laboratories, incubators, creative spaces, networks, and similar organisations.
- The organisation must bring creative people together or support creative practitioners, entrepreneurs, startups, or creative enterprises.
- Participation must be completed online through the research survey.
- The survey is free to complete.
