About the Project
With support from CBM International, ASURPI will be implementing the BMZ-Transitional Development Aid funded project titled “Resilience Strengthening for an Inclusive Life in Northwest Nigeria (STILNN)” across selected communities in Zuru, Fakai, and Shanga LGAs of Kebbi State. The goal is to enhance the resilience of vulnerable households and promote sustainable livelihoods through inclusive and participatory development approaches.
Position Title: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer
- Location: Kebbi State, Nigeria
- Employment Type: Contract
- Project Duration: Fixed-term, based on project funding
Role Purpose
The M&E Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the STILNN project achieves its intended results.
The incumbent will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing monitoring and evaluation systems to measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and impact of project activities.
This role is essential in promoting accountability, learning, and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of M&E strategies and frameworks for the STILNN project.
- Develop performance indicators, data collection tools, and monitoring plans in line with project goals.
- Coordinate with project teams, partners, and stakeholders to ensure effective and timely data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Support capacity building of project staff and local partners in M&E tools and practices.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and timeliness through rigorous quality control mechanisms.
- Compile and present M&E reports that highlight outcomes, learnings, and recommendations to inform decision-making.
- Participate in regular project planning, review meetings, and field monitoring visits.
- Track project progress against key performance indicators and ensure compliance with donor reporting requirements.
- Identify risks, challenges, and opportunities related to project implementation and recommend actionable solutions.
- Represent ASURPI in stakeholder meetings, evaluation missions, and donor visits, as assigned by the Project Manager.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or any related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Monitoring and Evaluation, preferably in the NGO/development sector.
- Proven experience with data collection methodologies, analysis, and reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with statistical analysis tools such as SPSS, STATA, or Power BI is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a multicultural team environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of M&E standards, logical frameworks, and result-based management (RBM) approaches.
- Fluency in English and Hausa (written and spoken) is mandatory.
- Prior experience working in Northern Nigeria or similar settings is highly desirable.
