Applications are now open for the 2025 NNPC/SNEPCo National University Scholarship Programme.
The scholarship is a joint initiative of the Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo), the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, and their co-venture partners.
This prestigious scholarship aims to promote academic excellence and enhance the technical and intellectual capabilities of young Nigerians.
Successful applicants will receive a yearly grant from their second year of study until the completion of their undergraduate degree.
About the Scholarship
The NNPC/SNEPCo National University Scholarship is a merit-based award designed exclusively for FULL-TIME undergraduates studying at Public Universities in Nigeria.
The program supports talented students in achieving their academic and career aspirations while contributing to the nation’s development.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of Nigeria
- Be currently enrolled in their second year of full-time study at a Public Nigerian University accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC)
- Have a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale (or its equivalent in other grading systems)
- Not be a recipient of any other scholarship sponsored by entities in the oil and gas industry, either locally or internationally

Selection Process
All applications must adhere to the following selection guidelines:
- Applications must be submitted only through the official scholarship portal before the specified deadline.
- Only candidates who meet all eligibility requirements will be invited to participate in a monitored computer-based test.
- The top 10 performing candidates from each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will be shortlisted for academic verification.
- Any falsification of academic or personal records will lead to automatic disqualification.
- Only applicants who successfully complete all stages of the selection process will be awarded the scholarship.
Note: All awarded scholars must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.5 per session to retain the scholarship throughout their studies.
