The Women Environmental Programme (WEP), in collaboration with Christian Aid, ActionAid, Hope Alive for Possibilities Initiative, and Gender Advocacy Movement for the Environment (GAME), is excited to launch the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Performance Leaderboard for 2025.

This groundbreaking initiative is designed to evaluate and rank sub-national governments across Nigeria based on their efforts to promote gender-responsive and inclusive governance.

The goal is to highlight and encourage policies and practices that reflect the diverse needs of all citizens, ensuring equity, fairness, and inclusive development, and ultimately leaving no one behind.

What is the GESI Performance Leaderboard?

The GESI Performance Leaderboard will assess how well state governments are integrating gender equality and social inclusion into governance processes.

Call for Expression of Interest: Data Collectors Needed Nationwide

To effectively carry out this assessment, WEP is inviting experienced individuals and organizations across Nigeria’s 36 states to join its team of GESI data collectors.

Selected individuals/organizations will play a crucial role in gathering reliable data that will inform the performance ranking of state governments.

Who Can Apply?

We welcome expressions of interest from individuals or organizations with:

  • Proven experience in data collection and analysis, particularly on gender equality, social inclusion, governance, or development.
  • Strong knowledge of local contexts and engagement with community stakeholders.
  • Ability to collect accurate and quality data within set timelines.
  • Familiarity with GESI concepts and indicators is an added advantage.

Location: All 36 states of Nigeria.

Deadline: Not specified – Early application is encouraged as selections may be made on a rolling basis.
