General Requirements for Teaching Staff

All applicants for academic positions must:

  • Possess at least five (5) O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
  • Hold relevant professional teaching qualifications where applicable.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in ICT applications, certified by a government-recognized institution.
  • Provide a valid NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate.

Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 05)

  • Ph.D. in the relevant field of Education.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of cognate teaching experience.
  • At least 15 refereed scholarly publications in reputable national and international journals.
  • Evidence of research supervision and direction, especially at the postgraduate level.

Lecturer I (CONUASS 04)

  • Ph.D. in the relevant field of Education.
  • At least four (4) years of teaching experience.
  • Minimum of eight (8) scholarly publications in reputable outlets.

Lecturer II (CONUASS 03)

  • Ph.D. in the relevant field of Education.
  • At least three (3) years of teaching experience.
  • Minimum of four (4) publications in reputable journals.

Assistant Lecturer (CONUASS 02)

  • Master’s degree in the relevant field of Education (with a Ph.D. grade).
  • Evidence of potential for a promising academic career.

Librarian I (CONUASS 03)

  • First and Master’s Degrees in Library and Information Science.
  • At least three (3) years of cognate experience in library and research.
  • Minimum of four (4) scholarly publications in reputable outlets.

Non-Teaching Staff Positions

  • Senior Procurement Officer (CONTISS 08) – B.Sc. in Purchasing & Supply, Marketing, Business Administration, or Economics + 3 years relevant experience.

Information/Protocol Unit

  • Information/Protocol Officer (CONTISS 08) – B.A/M.A. in Mass Communication or English + relevant postgraduate qualification.

Legal Unit

  • Legal Officer I (CONTISS 08) – LL.B, B.L with NYSC certificate.

Works/Physical Planning Unit

  • Engineer I (CONTISS 08) – Master’s in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering + 3 years’ experience.
  • Pupil Architect I (CONTISS 08) – Master’s in Architecture + registration with ARCON.
  • Quantity Surveyor (CONTISS 08) – First degree in Quantity Surveying + 3 years’ experience and QSRBN membership.

Science Laboratory Unit

  • Higher Laboratory Technologist (CONTISS 07) – B.Sc/HND in Lab Technology + NISLT membership.

ICT Unit

  • Computer Engineer II (CONTISS 07) – First degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering + COREN registrable.
  • Systems Programmer/Analyst II (CONTISS 07) – B.Sc. in Computer Science with programming/analysis skills.

Registry

  • Assistant Registrar (CONTISS 09) – B.A./B.Sc. + Master’s in Humanities or Social/Management Sciences + 3 years’ experience.
  • Administrative Officer II (CONTISS 07) – First degree in Humanities or Social/Management Sciences.

Bursary

  • Accountant II (CONTISS 07) – B.Sc. in Accounting with ICT proficiency.

Library

  • Senior Library Officer (CONTISS 08) – B.Sc. in Library and Information Science + 3 years’ experience.

Internal Audit Unit

  • Senior Internal Auditor (CONTISS 09) – B.Sc. & M.Sc. in Accounting + ICAN/ANAN membership + 3 years’ experience.

Clinic

  • Senior Nursing Officer (CONTISS 09) – B.Sc. Nursing + 5 years’ experience + Nursing Council registration.
  • Staff Nurse (CONTISS 07) – SSCE/GCE/WASC + NRN (male) or NRN/RM/SCM (female).

Academic Planning Unit

  • Planning Officer II (CONTISS 07) – First degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Educational Management.
