Are you driving change in your city through education, collaboration, and grassroots action? Here’s your chance to share your story with the world!
The Transformative Urban Coalitions (TUC) Video Pitch Contest 2025 is now accepting submissions.
This year, the contest aligns with the spirit of the 30th Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP30), hosted under the Brazilian Presidency.
COP30 has embraced the symbol of the Global Mutirão — a term from the Tupi-Guarani language meaning collective effort toward a shared goal. It represents the power of linking neighbourhood initiatives to city plans, city strategies to national policies, and national action to global goals.
This contest seeks to highlight how capacity-building — whether through peer-to-peer learning, community workshops, or hands-on initiatives like urban farming, painting, or clean-up campaigns — equips people with the skills and confidence to shape more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable cities.

What They’re Looking For
The organizers want to see your story:
- How are you and your community working together to transform your city through capacity-building?
- Are you training, educating, or mobilizing neighbours to solve local challenges and create global opportunities?
- Are you helping to make your city more sustainable, equitable, or liveable?
Your challenge: create a 60-second video pitch showcasing your initiative and how it connects to the wider Global Mutirão, turning local transformation into global climate action.
Awards
- Best Video Pitch: $800 USD
- Second Place: $500 USD
- Third Place: $300 USD

Eligibility & Submission Guidelines
Your video pitch must:
- Be no longer than 60 seconds.
- Highlight a collective effort for capacity-building, showing people, partnerships, and actions driving transformation.
- Explain how your initiative contributes to a more inclusive, climate-resilient city and links to global action.
- Inspire others by sharing why this transformation matters and how it empowers your community.
- Be submitted in English, Spanish, or Portuguese (all videos must include English subtitles or a transcript).
- Be accompanied by a short written story (100–150 words) describing your initiative and its impact.
