Position: Accounting Intern

About the Role
The Accounting Intern will work closely with Mavin’s Finance team, supporting day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance processes.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to understand the financial workings of the entertainment industry while contributing to one of Africa’s leading creative brands.

Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Record-Keeping
- Post and update accounting records including journals, invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Ensure all supporting documents are accurate, complete, and properly filed.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date ledgers.
2. Reporting & Analysis
- Assist in preparing and reconciling financial statements and management reports.
- Support in budgeting, expense tracking, and variance analysis.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial processes.
3. Audit & Compliance
- Work collaboratively with external auditors during audit exercises.
- Ensure all financial transactions comply with internal control policies and accounting standards.
4. Administrative Support
- Handle administrative tasks within the Finance Department.
- Offer ad-hoc support to the Finance Manager and broader Finance team when needed.
Qualifications & Requirements — Bring Your Vibe
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any related field.
- Must be a current NYSC Corps Member.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting software.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Great communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High levels of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
