The SAGFA Fellowship is a pioneering initiative of the Sino-Africa Green Finance Alliance (SAGFA), spearheaded by the Africa-China Centre for Policy and Advisory (ACCPA) with the support of the African Climate Foundation (ACF).
This transformative fellowship is designed to cultivate the next generation of African leaders in green finance—empowering policymakers, researchers, and industry professionals with the critical knowledge, technical skills, and strategic tools required to champion climate-resilient industrial development across Africa.
About the Fellowship
In its pilot phase, the SAGFA Fellowship will be delivered entirely online, ensuring accessibility to participants across the continent.
The program will provide a flexible and interactive learning experience, combining expert-led lectures, case studies, and collaborative projects.
In future editions, SAGFA plans to introduce in-person residencies and industry immersions, offering fellows hands-on exposure to green finance innovations and policy practices—subject to sustainable funding availability.
Program Duration: October – November 2025 (8 Weeks, Virtual Only)
Fellowship Objectives
The SAGFA Fellowship seeks to:
- Enhance technical knowledge in green finance policy, instruments, and implementation strategies tailored to Africa’s development realities.
- Equip African professionals with practical skills to design, implement, and influence green finance policies and programs.
- Foster collaboration and knowledge exchange between African and Chinese stakeholders through structured dialogues and case-based learning.
- Promote advocacy and innovation in sustainable industrialization to accelerate Africa’s transition toward low-carbon and climate-resilient growth.

The Fellowship is open to mid- to senior-level professionals from across Africa who are actively engaged in, or passionate about, climate finance and sustainable development, including:
