Applications Open for Dr. Fola Aina Fellowship 2025 (Cohort 2) | Leadership and Mentorship Opportunity for Young Nigerians
The Dr. Fola Aina Fellowship is a leadership and mentorship programme open to young Nigerians between the ages of 21 and 35.
The fellowship is designed to support emerging Nigerian leaders who are driving growth and prosperity, strengthening credible governance, and promoting peace and security across Nigeria.
The fellowship will bring together seven (7) outstanding young leaders for a comprehensive leadership development programme aimed at building critical skills and empowering Fellows to lead effectively within their sectors and communities.

What You Stand to Gain
1. Six-Week Leadership Development Experience
Fellows will participate in an immersive six-week leadership development programme focused on skills acquisition in one of three thematic areas:
- Leadership in Business
- Leadership in Social Development
- Leadership in Governance
This intensive programme integrates academic sessions, a strengths-based Common Leadership Curriculum, and cultural activities. Fellows across all themes will gain relevant knowledge and practical skills to drive meaningful impact in their sectors and communities.
2. Annual Colloquium in Abuja, Nigeria
All Fellows will attend the Dr. Fola Aina Annual Colloquium on Youth, Leadership, and Nation Building, a high-level event that brings together young leaders and seasoned professionals from the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Selected Fellows will deliver talks, participate in interactive sessions, and build valuable networks.
The Colloquium will take place in December.
3. Volunteering Activities
Fellows will engage in structured volunteering activities with Programme Partners, providing hands-on experience and practical application of the skills and insights gained during the leadership programme.
4. Networking and Alumni Community
Fellows will connect with peers from across Nigeria and become part of a growing alumni network of young leaders actively transforming the nation across diverse sectors.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a Nigerian citizen
- Have resided in Nigeria for at least six (6) months prior to application
- Be between 21 and 35 years of age on or before the application deadline
(Exceptional applicants aged 18–21 may be considered) - Be male or female
- Be willing and able to commit at least 3 hours weekly to fellowship activities, including webinars, case studies, team projects, and assignments
- Not be an employee or an immediate family member of an employee of the Triola Aina Foundation
- Be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Not be an alumnus/alumna of the Dr. Fola Aina Fellowship
