About the University of Malta Scholarships
The University of Malta aims to attract high-calibre postgraduate students from outside the European Union and EEA. Through this scholarship scheme, tuition fee waivers of up to 100% are awarded to deserving candidates enrolled in Master’s by Research and PhD programmes.
The fee waiver covers the standard duration of the programme. Please note that bench fees may still apply for certain courses.
Any extension beyond the normal study period may not be eligible for continued fee waivers.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the 2026 University of Malta Postgraduate Scholarships, applicants must:

How to Apply for the 2026 University of Malta Scholarships
Interested and qualified applicants should follow these steps:
- Click the “Apply Now” or “Click Here to Apply” button to access the application portal.
- Apply for admission into a Master’s by Research or PhD programme at the University of Malta.
- Accept the offer of admission once granted.
- Apply for the scholarship by submitting a fee-waiver request to the International Office.
Important:
Scholarship requests must be submitted within one month of receiving an unconditional offer letter (i.e., within one month of January 31, May 31, or October 31).
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an online interview with the Master’s and PhD (by Research) Scholarship Selection Board.
