Applications Now Open: Women Leading Change – Leadership and Advocacy Training 2026

Women Leading Change: Building Young Women Leaders for GBV Prevention is a transformative leadership and advocacy training programme designed to equip young women with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to effectively advocate against gender-based violence (GBV).

This programme empowers participants with practical leadership, advocacy, organizing, and storytelling skills, enabling them to become strong champions for GBV prevention within their communities.

The training will adopt a blended approach, combining intensive physical and online sessions focused on leadership development, advocacy strategies, storytelling, community engagement, and mobilization.

Participants will also be trained to document lived experiences and community realities through compelling advocacy stories and digital content.

These outputs will support broader awareness campaigns and challenge harmful gender norms.

Following the training, participants are expected to apply the knowledge and skills gained to:

  • Champion gender-based violence prevention in their communities
  • Develop advocacy stories and digital content to raise awareness on GBV prevention
  • Actively respond to and challenge GBV-related issues

Upon completion of the programme, participants will become members of the CEPASD Anti-GBV Champions Network, where they will continue advocating against gender-based violence.

  • Physical Training: 30th January, 2026

Who Should Apply

Applications are open to women aged 18–35 years who demonstrate:

  • A strong commitment to GBV prevention
  • Interest in leadership, advocacy, or activism
  • Passion for advocating against gender-based violence
  • Residency in Abuja (participants must be Abuja-based)
