About the DBN Entrepreneurship Training Program

Applications are now open for the 8th cycle of the DBN Entrepreneurship Training Program.

The Development Bank of Nigeria is a development finance institution established by the Federal Government of Nigeria to address financing challenges faced by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The Bank provides financing, partial credit guarantees, and technical assistance to support sustainable business growth.

DBN does not disburse loans directly to beneficiaries. Instead, funding is accessed through participating financial institutions across Nigeria.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the DBN Entrepreneurship Training Program, applicants must:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Be a Nigerian citizen or legal resident
  • Own a for-profit business in any sector
  • Have a business that is based and operating in Anambra State
  • Have a business registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)
  • Be available to fully commit to the training schedule once accepted

Program Duration and Rewards

Participants will undergo a competitive selection process with the following outcomes:

  • 50 top-performing participants will be invited to an in-person workshop in Anambra State (June 2026)
  • 15 entrepreneurs will emerge as final grant winners
  • ₦8.5 million in grants will be shared among the 15 winners
  • All participants on the learning platform can also compete for a ₦50 million national cash prize pool

Mandatory Courses

All applicants must complete a minimum of four (4) mandatory courses on the DBN BizAid Learning Management Platform and achieve an average score of 70% across all quizzes. The required courses are:

  • Accounting & Bookkeeping
  • Sustainability for MSMEs
  • Marketing and Sales Techniques
  • Credit Management / Access to Finance

How to Apply

Follow the steps below to apply for the DBN Entrepreneurship Training Program:

  • Register on the DBN BizAid application platform
  • Complete all four mandatory courses before the stipulated deadline
  • Eligible applicants will receive an email invitation to apply for the face-to-face training
  • Submit the application form via the provided link
  • A confirmation email will be sent within 24 hours of submission
  • Applicants will be screened and shortlisted based on eligibility criteria
  • Successful candidates will be notified via email and phone call

Training locations will be announced and conducted consecutively in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt.
