The Bayelsa State Government has officially launched Phase 4 of the Governor Douye Diri Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Programme, creating new opportunities for young people to gain practical, vocational, and digital skills.
Spearheaded by Douye Diri, the initiative is aimed at reducing unemployment, promoting entrepreneurship, and strengthening human capital development across Bayelsa State.
Registration is scheduled to commence on Monday, March 2, 2026, with thousands of youths expected to participate across all eight Local Government Areas (LGAs).
Overview of Phase 4
The Governor Diri Skills Acquisition Programme is a flagship empowerment initiative designed to equip Bayelsa youths with employable and entrepreneurial skills.
According to the State Coordinator, Charity Kens-Godwin, Phase 4 will adopt a decentralized registration process to ensure accessibility for both urban and rural residents.
