Program Details

The UNESCO Internship Program offers practical work experience in a multicultural environment. Interns will:

  • Learn about UNESCO’s mandate, programmes, and priorities
  • Gain academic and professional knowledge through meaningful assignments
  • Work in various UNESCO offices worldwide

Numerous internship positions are available across multiple locations. Early application is encouraged due to high demand.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for the 2026 UNESCO Graduate Internship Program must:

  • Be at least 20 years old
  • Be currently enrolled and in the 3rd/final year of a Bachelor’s degree OR currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program OR have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree within the last 12 months
  • Applicants for secretarial/assistant or technical/professional roles must be enrolled in the final year of a specialized institution or recently graduated within 12 months
  • Have excellent written and spoken English or French (knowledge of the other language is an asset; required for certain assignments at HQ)
  • Be proficient in computer systems and office-related software
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be able to work effectively in a team and adapt to an international work environment

Note: Candidates who have completed a full-time Bachelor’s degree but are not enrolled in a graduate program are not eligible.
