Job Summary
The Flight Dispatcher will work jointly with the Pilot-in-Command to exercise operational control and ensure safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant flight operations.
The role involves comprehensive flight planning, monitoring, operational analysis, and coordination within a 24/7 operations environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Control and Flight Release
- Exercise joint operational control with the Pilot-in-Command.
- Authorize and release aircraft in accordance with approved Operational Flight Plans and regulatory requirements.
2. Flight Planning and Monitoring
- Develop, review, authorize, revise, and monitor operational and ATS flight plans.
- Support scheduled, non-scheduled, training, and test flights.
3. Operational Analysis and Risk Management
- Analyze meteorological reports, ATC data, aircraft performance, and airport conditions.
- Determine optimal routing, fuel requirements, and payload planning.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks.
4. Flight Watch and Communication
- Maintain continuous flight watch and track flight progress.
- Communicate operational updates and weather changes to the Pilot-in-Command and relevant stakeholders.
5. Irregular Operations and Emergency Response
- Manage diversions, delays, cancellations, and curfew breaks.
- Activate accident alarm procedures when required.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external agencies during emergencies.
6. Coordination, Compliance, and Optimization
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations Coordination, Flight Operations Management, and airport handling teams.
- Ensure regulatory compliance while optimizing safety, operational efficiency, and revenue performance.

Requirements
Qualification
- Minimum of BSc, HND, or equivalent qualification.
Licensing
- Valid NCAA Flight Dispatcher License (mandatory).
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years’ hands-on experience as a licensed Flight Dispatcher.
Technical Competence
- Strong knowledge of weather interpretation, flight planning systems, and aircraft performance.
- Experience with B737-300/500, EMB145, E1/E2, or similar aircraft types is preferred.
Regulatory Knowledge
- Working knowledge of NCAA regulations and ICAO standards.
Skills
- Excellent decision-making and communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, 24/7 operational environment.
- Proficiency in flight planning software and Microsoft Office tools.
