Call for Applications: NDDC 2026 Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship Programme
To strengthen Human Resource Development in the Niger Delta region, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has officially announced the 2026 Foreign Postgraduate Scholarship Programme.
This initiative is designed to equip talented young graduates with advanced training and globally relevant skills, enabling them to actively participate in the Federal Government’s Local Content Programme while gaining specialization in their chosen fields and competing internationally.

Qualified applicants can apply under the following disciplines:
- Agricultural Sciences / Biotechnology
- Engineering
- Environmental Sciences
- Geosciences
- Information Technology / Artificial Intelligence
- Medical Sciences
- Architecture / Building Technology
- Law

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be an indigene of the Niger Delta Region
- Possess a First Class or Second Class Upper Division degree
- Be below 40 years of age
Selection Process
The selection process is rigorous and merit-based:
- Online Application: Candidates must apply through the official NDDC website.
- Preliminary Shortlisting
Based on:- WASSCE/NECO results
- Degree classification
- Local Government Identification
- Computer-Based Test (CBT): Conducted in Rivers State for shortlisted candidates.
- Minimum Score Requirement: Candidates must score at least 70% to proceed.
- Further Shortlisting: Successful candidates move to the next stage.
- Final Verification
Conducted through:- Local Government Area (LGA)
- Community Development Committee (CDC)
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship value will be determined based on the prevailing exchange rate of the Naira, covering overseas postgraduate study expenses.

Required Documents
Applicants must upload the following:
- Recent passport photograph
- Local Government Identification Letter
- Admission letter from a recognized overseas university
- Academic certificates (degrees)
- NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate
After submission, a registration number will be generated. Applicants should print the acknowledgment slip for reference.

Important Notes
- Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted
- Preference will be given to applicants from oil-producing communities, provided they meet the required cut-off
