FG Launches OHOPRS to Transform Lives and End Poverty for Millions of Nigerians
The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially launched the One Humanitarian – One Poverty Response System (OHOPRS), a landmark initiative aimed at unifying and strengthening the nation’s approach to poverty reduction and humanitarian support.
This ambitious program aligns with the Presidential mandate to lift 50 million Nigerians out of poverty, using real-time digital systems, harmonized data, and a whole-of-government, whole-of-society approach.

A Unified System for Maximum Impact
Central to OHOPRS is the creation of a Unified National Register and a structured Poverty Exit Pathway. These tools will track beneficiaries from vulnerability through targeted support all the way to self-reliance and sustained growth.
Supporting this framework is the Poverty Intelligence Lab, which enables real-time analytics, ensuring that decisions are evidence-based and interventions reach those who need them most.
According to Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard M. Doro, OHOPRS is a “unified national architecture” that merges humanitarian relief, social protection, and long-term development into a single, coordinated system. Built on the principle of “One System, One Register, One Pathway,” the initiative promises efficiency, transparency, and accountability in delivering aid to Nigeria’s vulnerable populations.

Strengthening Partnerships for Sustainable Change
The launch event, held at the United Nations House in Abuja, brought together UN agencies, development partners, and key national stakeholders. The Federal Ministry emphasized its commitment to integrating existing programs into OHOPRS, fostering collaboration with partners, and ensuring optimal use of resources to maximize impact.
