Amazon Web Services (AWS), in collaboration with Udacity, is offering 4,500 fully funded AI and Machine Learning (ML) Nanodegree scholarships to students and aspiring professionals who identify as underserved or underrepresented in the tech industry.
This initiative is designed to remove financial barriers, equip learners with in-demand AI skills, and support a more diverse global tech workforce through structured training and mentorship.
Scholarship Overview
The AWS AI & ML Scholarship program provides full tuition coverage for Udacity’s Nanodegree programs. Participants will gain hands-on experience in artificial intelligence while receiving guidance and coaching from industry professionals.
In addition to technical training, the program includes mentorship opportunities aimed at supporting learners throughout their journey into tech.

Program Details
The scholarship is an AI/ML-focused initiative that:
- Awards 4,500 Nanodegree scholarships annually
- Offers hands-on, project-based learning
- Provides mentorship and career support
- Uses AWS DeepRacer (student version) as a fun, interactive way to prequalify applicants
The program leverages real-world AWS tools and services to help learners build practical, job-ready skills in AI and machine learning.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Identify as underserved or underrepresented in technology
- Be a student, early-career professional, or career switcher
- Be currently enrolled in high school or college (subject to Udacity’s terms and conditions)
No prior experience in machine learning, computer science, or racing is required. The program is beginner-friendly and designed to help anyone get started in AI.

- Future AWS Agentic AI Business Professional
- Future AWS Agent Developer
Each track is aligned with high-demand roles in the AI industry and focuses on building job-ready skills.

Selection Process
Phase 1: Challenge Phase
- Application Period: March 24 – June 24, 2026
- Open to up to 100,000 learners worldwide (fully funded by AWS)
- Based on the AWS AI Practitioner Learning Plan
- Includes self-paced foundational AI and Agentic AI training
- Participants receive a Certificate of Completion
Phase 2: Udacity Nanodegree Program
- Duration: August 4 – November 4, 2026
- Open to the top 4,500 performers from Phase 1
- Participants choose from three career-aligned Nanodegree tracks
- Focus on project-based learning and building a strong AI portfolio using AWS services
