About the Fund
GYCAF’s core mission is to support innovative climate initiatives led by young changemakers, especially those based in climate-vulnerable communities.
The fund aligns with international climate goals, contributing to the global ambition of mobilizing USD 100 billion in climate finance and limiting the rise in global temperatures to well below 2°C by 2025.
In light of the latest IPCC reports and the urgent call for accelerated climate action, GYCAF recognizes the need for stronger systems that enable youth to be at the forefront of sustainability, innovation, and community resilience.

Who Can Apply
The GYCAF Microgrants (Round 3) are open to:
- Youth-led organizations and initiatives spearheaded by individuals aged 18 to 35
- Individuals or groups seeking to launch or scale impactful, community-based climate projects
- Applicants actively engaged in grassroots climate efforts within their local contexts
Funding Focus Areas
Projects should align with one or more of the following priority areas:
- Sustainable Agriculture: Promoting climate-resilient farming to strengthen food security
- Clean Energy: Expanding access to renewable energy in marginalized communities
- Ocean Conservation: Protecting marine ecosystems and mitigating ocean-related climate impacts
- Capacity Development: Building youth skills in climate leadership, innovation, and green business
- Environmental Stewardship: Encouraging biodiversity preservation and sustainable practices
- Tech & Innovation: Driving creative, tech-driven solutions to critical climate issues

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the GYCAF Microgrants, applicants must:
- Be youth-led organizations (80% of ownership/leadership between ages 18–35)
- Demonstrate a track record of local climate activism
- Present a clear, realistic project proposal with a solid timeline, budget, and team structure
- Outline measurable environmental and socio-economic outcomes
- Provide a sustainability plan detailing how the grant will contribute to long-term impact

Number of Awards: 3 to 5 projects will be selected
Grant Amount: Between $500 to $1,000 per selected project
