The Kano State Government has officially commenced the recruitment of certified MBBS doctors into state-owned hospitals, in line with its commitment to strengthen the healthcare system and enhance the quality of medical services across the state.
This development was confirmed through a public notice released by the Kano State Hospitals Management Board under the directive of His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Executive Governor of Kano State.
According to the notice dated 25th July 2025, all qualified medical doctors holding an MBBS degree, who have been inducted by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)—including those who received their medical education outside Nigeria and have successfully passed the required assessments and obtained their MDCN certification—are hereby invited to apply for placement as Medical Officers.
The directive, signed by Dr. Aisha Bello Dambatta, Director of Medical Services, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, emphasized the state government’s resolve to improve healthcare delivery through the deployment of skilled medical personnel across its health facilities.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Possess an MBBS degree from a recognized institution.
- Have passed all relevant MDCN qualifying assessments.
- Hold a valid MDCN practicing certificate.
- Be either locally trained or internationally trained and certified.
- Be willing to serve in any designated hospital within Kano State.
