The Confederation of African Football (CAF), founded in 1957 by Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, and South Africa, is the governing body of African football.
CAF organizes continental competitions, provides administrative and technical training, and promotes football across the continent.
The organization also works closely with FIFA to coordinate tournaments, including the World Cup, Youth and Women’s competitions, and Olympic Football Tournaments.
CAF is currently recruiting qualified candidates for the position of National Teams Officer.

Job Description
The National Teams Officer will support the planning, coordination, and management of CAF’s national teams competitions while ensuring compliance with regulations and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply competition management policies and regulations.
- Communicate with national associations on the organization of national team competitions.
- Assist the National Teams Manager in all aspects of competition management.
- Participate in inspection visits to host countries when required.
- Support in scheduling matches, match operations, and pre/post-match activities.
- Contribute to the organization of tournament draws.
- Prepare reports, updates, circular letters, and post-event debriefings.
- Monitor the progress of national team qualifiers.
- Participate in final tournament missions when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with general administrative requirements.
- Assist with workshops, competition management tools, and committee meetings.
- Review regulations and ensure proper alignment.
- Collaborate with other CAF departments and divisions.
- Manage competition software (CMS).
- Assist in training and formation of match officials.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Sports Management (or equivalent).
- Certification in Event Management is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience in football or sports event management.
- Strong knowledge of competition management, including match operations and tournament organization.
- Passion for professional football event delivery.
- Project management and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent in English and French (both written and spoken) – mandatory. Knowledge of Arabic and/or Portuguese is an added advantage.
- Strong organizational, decision-making, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Reliable team player with a positive attitude.
- Proficiency in IT tools and CAF online systems.
