Call for Applications: British Council Film Lab Africa Accelerator Programme 2025
Applications are now open for the British Council Film Lab Africa Accelerator Programme 2025, a flagship initiative aimed at supporting emerging Nigerian filmmakers, screenwriters, and television producers.
The programme equips participants with the skills, exposure, and industry connections needed to build sustainable careers in film and television.
Launched in 2023, Film Lab Africa is focused on strengthening Africa’s creative economy by empowering a new generation of storytellers to create compelling, globally relevant content while amplifying African narratives on international platforms.

Nigeria’s film and television industry continues to shape global conversations. However, many emerging creatives face challenges such as limited access to funding, mentorship, and international networks.
Film Lab Africa addresses these gaps through a comprehensive accelerator model that combines training, mentorship, production support, and showcasing opportunities.

What Film Lab Africa Offers

Eligibility
The programme is open to Nigerian emerging creatives who:
- Are screenwriters, filmmakers, or TV producers
- Have demonstrated interest or experience in film, television, or digital content creation
- Are committed to developing original African stories for local and global audiences
- Can fully participate in the training, mentorship, and development activities
