About the National Essay Competition (NEC) 2026
The Nigerian Revenue Service has officially announced the commencement of Season 4 of its National Essay Competition.
NEC Season 4 is designed to promote critical thinking among young Nigerians and stimulate informed dialogue on public finance, taxation, accountability, and national development.
The competition provides a platform for participants to showcase their intellectual depth, analytical capacity, and policy insight while addressing one of Nigeria’s most pressing economic challenges.
Essay Topic
Analyze the challenges faced by the Nigerian Revenue Service in the implementation of the new tax laws and propose practical solutions to address them.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the National Essay Competition (NEC) 2026, applicants must:
- Be Nigerian citizens
- Be between 20 and 35 years old
- Submit an original and unpublished essay
