Call for Applications: OHDI One Health Internship Program 2026 for Graduates and Early-Career Professionals
The One Health and Development Initiative (OHDI) is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing One Health and sustainable development by addressing the interconnected challenges of human, animal, plant, and environmental health.
Through donor-funded programs, capacity-strengthening initiatives, digital platforms, and community-driven interventions, OHDI delivers integrated, practical solutions that improve lives and protect ecosystems.
As part of its commitment to building the next generation of One Health professionals, OHDI is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the OHDI Internship Program 2026.
This internship is designed to provide graduates with meaningful, hands-on experience across multidisciplinary One Health program areas, while strengthening professional skills, applied learning, and overall career readiness.

Internship Program Overview
The OHDI Internship Program offers early-career professionals the opportunity to contribute to real-world projects at the intersection of public health, animal welfare, environmental sustainability, and development practice.
Interns will work closely with OHDI program teams to support research, implementation, coordination, communications, and knowledge management activities, in alignment with the organization’s mission and strategic priorities.
Available Program Areas
Applicants may apply to one of the following program areas based on their academic background and interests:
- Antimicrobial Resistance Mitigation and Stewardship
- Animal Welfare and Sustainable Livestock Systems
- Conservation and Climate Action
- Sustainable (Plant) Food Systems
- One Health Technologies
- Zoonoses and Health Security
Each program area provides exposure to policy engagement, research, community outreach, and systems-based One Health approaches.

Internship Duration and Structure
- Duration: 3 months (approximately 20 hours per week)
- Mode: Remote / Hybrid
- Start Date: February 1, 2026
Interns are expected to commit the required time, meet assigned deliverables, and actively participate in all program and project activities throughout the internship period.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrate a strong interest in One Health, development, or related fields
- Show willingness to learn, collaborate, and contribute within multidisciplinary teams
