The Sani Bello Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship Programme is one of the flagship initiatives of the Sani Bello Foundation, established to support undergraduate students in Nigerian public tertiary institutions who face financial challenges in meeting their tuition obligations.

This scholarship reflects the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to expanding access to education, promoting academic excellence, and empowering young Nigerians to achieve their full potential.

The scholarship is renewable annually until graduation for existing beneficiaries, provided they maintain the minimum required CGPA. New applications are accepted from students who are in their second year of study.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  1. Must be a registered full-time undergraduate student in a recognized public tertiary institution in Nigeria. (Part-time students are not eligible.)
  2. Students of private institutions or foreign institutions are not eligible.
  3. Must be in second year (200 level) at the time of application.
  4. Must possess a minimum of five (5) O-Level credits in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB, including Mathematics and English Language, obtained in not more than two sittings.
  5. Must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0.
  6. Civil servants are not eligible to apply.
  7. Must be an indigene of Zone C, Niger State, by:
    • Origin, or
    • Birth, or
    • Having parents/guardians who have resided in Kontagora for 15 years or more.

Required Documents

Applicants must possess original copies of the following documents:

  • Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age
  • Local Government Indigene Letter
  • O-Level Result
  • Secondary School Testimonial
  • Academic Transcript or Result Statement clearly showing CGPA, duly signed and stamped by the institution

Applicants are also required to submit photocopies of all the above documents, alongside:

  • Online application printout
  • Admission letter
  • School ID card or valid means of school identification
  • Photocopy of departmental course registration forms

All documents must be submitted on or before 1st March.

Screening Process

Screening begins immediately upon submission of documents. Applicants are therefore advised to submit their documents in person, as no proxy submissions will be accepted.
