The Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) is pleased to announce the 2026 E-JUST TICAD8 African Scholarship, an initiative aimed at developing high-quality human resources in Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) to strengthen future African STI networks and beyond.

The E-JUST TICAD8 Scholarship is a fully funded postgraduate scholarship that supports outstanding African students to pursue Master’s and PhD degrees in key fields of science and engineering.

Scholarship Details

The E-JUST TICAD8 African Scholarship is open to non-Egyptian African students seeking to obtain Master’s or PhD degrees in Engineering or Basic and Applied Sciences.

The scholarship is offered under a collaborative framework between the Government of Egypt and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), as part of the TICAD8 initiative to promote scientific and technological development across Africa.

For the Fall 2026 intake, scholarships are available for programs in the following fields:

• Engineering
• Computer Science and Information Technology
• Basic and Applied Sciences
• International Business and Humanities
• Heritage Science

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the 2026 E-JUST TICAD8 African Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

General Requirements

• Be a national of an African country other than Egypt
• Have both home and current addresses within the African continent
• Not be currently serving in the military
• Meet E-JUST admission requirements and successfully pass interviews and oral examinations
• Submit a financial declaration, explaining their financial status and the need for scholarship support
• Be a researcher, instructor, or demonstrate potential to pursue an academic or research-based career

Faculty of Engineering (FOE)

• M.Sc. Applicants:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0, or equivalent (Very Good / Second Class Upper)
• PhD Applicants:
  • Master’s degree (thesis-based) in Engineering or a related field
  • Strong academic background relevant to the proposed research topic

Basic and Applied Sciences (BAS)

• M.Sc. Applicants:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science in the relevant field
  • Minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0, or equivalent (Very Good / Second Class Upper)
• PhD Applicants:
  • Master’s degree (thesis-based) in Science or a related discipline
  • Excellent academic record aligned with the proposed research area
