The Federal Ministry of Youth Development is calling on young female leaders across Nigeria to participate in the National Girls Leadership Essay Competition 2025.

This is your chance to use your voice and share your vision for a better future.

This year’s powerful theme is “The girl I am, the change I lead: Girls on the front lines of crisis.” We want to hear your unique perspective on how girls and young women are not just surviving crises but are actively leading the way in finding solutions and building resilient communities.

Eligibility and Rewards

This isn’t just a contest—it’s a platform to launch your leadership journey. The competition is open to young Nigerian females between the ages of 10 and 20.

The rewards for the winners are designed to inspire and empower:

• First Place: The winner will get the exclusive opportunity to become a “Shadow Minister” for Youth Development for a full 24 hours, stepping directly into the shoes of a national leader.
• Top 3 Winners: The top three finalists will receive cash prizes and a special invitation to the prestigious Girls Future Conference (#GFC2025), where they will connect with other young leaders, mentors, and changemakers.
