The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) is pleased to announce the launch of the IsDB Scholarship Program for qualified and interested international students from member countries and Muslim communities worldwide.
This fully funded scholarship is designed to support academically outstanding but financially disadvantaged Muslim students, particularly those from Muslim communities in non-member countries, to pursue undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and professional training programmes.

About the IsDB Scholarship Program
As part of its mission to strengthen human capital development across its member states and Muslim communities globally, the Islamic Development Bank funds and implements several scholarship schemes aimed at promoting education, research, and innovation.
The IsDB Scholarship Program supports students in fields critical to sustainable development, particularly science, technology, engineering, medicine, agriculture, and related disciplines.
IsDB Scholarship Program Categories
1. IsDB Scholarship Program for Muslim Communities in Non-Member Countries (SPMC)
Established in 1983, this programme supports academically talented but financially disadvantaged Muslim students from non-member countries to pursue undergraduate studies in priority fields such as medicine, engineering, computer science, IT, and agriculture—either in their home countries or in IsDB member states.
2. IsDB Master of Science (M.Sc.) Scholarship Program
Launched in 1998, this programme aims to build scientific and technological capacity in Least Developed Member Countries (LDMCs) by supporting master’s-level studies in key development-oriented fields.
3. IsDB Merit Scholarship Program for High Technology (MSP)
Introduced in 1992, the MSP focuses on advanced research and innovation, supporting:
- PhD studies (up to 3 years)
- Post-doctoral research (6–12 months)
The programme targets 16 applied science and high-technology disciplines essential to the development of IsDB member countries.
4. IsDB–ISFD Scholarship Program
Launched in 2019 in collaboration with the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD), this programme aims to reduce poverty in 21 Least Developed IsDB Member Countries by providing scholarships for bachelor’s degrees and technical diplomas in medicine, engineering, agriculture, and related fields.

Eligibility Requirements for IsDB Scholarship Program 2026
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrate financial need
- Meet age limits:
- Undergraduate: up to 24 years
- Master’s: up to 30 years
- PhD: up to 35 years
- Postdoctoral: up to 40 years
- Not be an IsDB staff member or a close relative of IsDB staff
- Have completed senior secondary education with strong results in science subjects
- Provide proof of language proficiency in the medium of instruction
- Submit certified English or French translations of all documents where required
- Be medically fit and willing to undergo medical screening
- Preferably have secured admission in an eligible discipline
- Reside in their home country at the time of application
- Not be receiving another scholarship during the study period

The scholarship is open to applicants from IsDB Member Countries, including (but not limited to):
Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Morocco, Sudan, Jordan, Oman, Qatar, UAE, Algeria, Tunisia, Senegal, Mali, Niger, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Benin, Cameroon, Afghanistan, Somalia, and many others.
