Scholarship Details
The KAIST Graduate Scholarship offers a wide range of academic programs and majors for international students pursuing Master’s and PhD degrees.
The scholarship fully covers the cost of study for the entire duration of the program:
- Master’s Degree: 2 years
- PhD Degree: 4 years
- Integrated Master’s–PhD: Up to 5 years (as applicable)
Applications are currently open for the Fall 2026 Track.
Final-year undergraduate students are also eligible to apply, provided they graduate before September 2026.
2026 KAIST Scholarship Requirements
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be an international student (non-Korean citizen).
- For Master’s Degree:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or expect to receive it by August 31, 2026.
- For PhD Degree:
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or expect to receive it by August 31, 2026.
- Final-year undergraduate students may apply if they expect to graduate before September 2026.

Scholarship Duration & Benefits
Successful applicants will receive:
- Full Tuition Fee Exemption
- 4 semesters for Master’s candidates
- 8 semesters for PhD candidates
- 10 semesters for Integrated Master’s–PhD candidates
- Monthly Stipend (Up to 2,500,000 KRW)
- Covers accommodation and living expenses
- National Health Insurance Premium Coverage
- Opportunity to engage in approved part-time work for additional income.

English Proficiency Exemption
Applicants are exempt from submitting English proficiency test results if they:
- Are citizens of English-native or officially English-speaking countries, or
- Completed their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an English-speaking country.
