In a significant move to boost local economies and foster self-reliance, Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central, has launched a multi-million naira empowerment program for his constituents. The initiative has provided financial support to more than 300 small-scale business owners, craftsmen, and artisans in the district.
A Partnership for Economic Empowerment
Executed in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), the program delivered grants ranging from N100,000 to N500,000 to each beneficiary.
According to the senator, the primary goal of the initiative is to strengthen small businesses, stimulate job creation, and promote economic independence within the community.
Speaking on behalf of Senator Mustapha, Hon. Bashirat Kolawole, the Director General for Ilorin East, highlighted that the grants were designed to uplift entrepreneurs and enable business expansion.
She emphasized the senator’s consistent commitment to championing initiatives that empower his constituents, shifting them from dependency to self-reliance.
