About the Internship
Are you eager to kickstart your career? The Mastercard Foundation Internship 2026 is designed for ambitious and career-driven young professionals with little to no work experience.
Through this program, interns will:
- Gain practical learning and work experience.
- Support the Foundation’s programs, operations, and partnerships.
- Receive mentorship and professional exposure aligned with the Foundation’s Young Africa Works strategy, which focuses on preparing youth for employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be eligible to work in one of the seven African countries where the Mastercard Foundation operates: Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, and Uganda.
- Be recent graduates with 0–4 years of work experience.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized institution.
- Not be currently enrolled in a program of study or participating in another Foundation initiative (for Mastercard Foundation Scholar Alumni).
- Be available full-time throughout the internship period.
- Show active involvement in community projects or extracurricular activities.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in youth development, social impact, and inclusive growth in Africa.

Skills & Competencies
Applicants should possess:
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and/or Google Workspace.

- Passion for innovation, continuous learning, and making a difference in Africa.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Internship Duration & Rewards
