The Federal Government/REA NextGen Programme for Nigerian Youths is designed to provide selected participants with technical and leadership skills specifically tailored to the renewable energy sector.
Renewable energy developers are being urged by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) to enhance their corporate governance structures as part of the Renewable Energy Service Companies (RESOCs) framework.

About the Federal Government/REA NextGen Programme for Nigerian Youths
The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), in collaboration with the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) and the Ecological Innovation Empowerment Initiative (EIEI), has introduced the NEXT GEN RESCO Programme. This initiative seeks to bridge the skills gap in the renewable energy sector by equipping young professionals with the necessary expertise to lead in the rapidly expanding clean energy landscape in Nigeria.
Applications for the Federal Government/REA NextGen Programme for Nigerian Youths are now open. Over the course of 12 months, 60 successful applicants will have the opportunity to gain in-depth industry knowledge, engage with experts, and collaborate with key stakeholders in the energy sector.

- Graduates with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.5.
- Individuals with a maximum of two years of post-graduate experience.
- Candidates possessing strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Female applicants, who are highly encouraged to apply as part of the program’s commitment to gender inclusion.
- Candidates currently completing their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Abuja.
