General Instructions for Applicants

All candidates are to take note of the following important instructions before applying:

  • There will be no Pre-Selection Computer-Based Test (CBT).
  • No special recruitment centers will be created; screening will take place only in candidates’ respective states of origin.
  • No zonal screening exercise will be conducted.
  • Candidates must not bring electronic gadgets or recording devices to the recruitment venue.
  • Tattoos, body piercings, or inscriptions (except tribal marks) are strictly prohibited.
  • Multiple ear piercings for female applicants are not allowed.
  • Applicants must present all original educational certificates (from primary to secondary levels).
  • Candidates must not be members of any cult, fraternity, or secret society.
  • Submission of forged or falsified documents will lead to automatic disqualification and withdrawal from training if discovered later.
  • Gratification or bribery in any form is strictly prohibited; recruitment into the Nigerian Army is completely FREE.
  • Candidates must come along with their NIN slip and BVN printout during screening.
  • Applicants are strongly advised to read all instructions carefully on the official website.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be eligible for the Nigerian Army Regular Recruit Intake 2025, applicants must:

  • Be single and a Nigerian citizen by birth.
  • Possess a National Identity Card (NIN) and BVN printout.
  • Have a minimum of 4 passes, including English Language, in not more than two sittings in WASSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB, or NBAIS.
  • Applicants applying as Tradesmen/Women must also possess a Trade Test / City & Guild Certificate or equivalent qualifications (details available on the website).
  • Be medically, physically, and psychologically fit according to Nigerian Army standards.
  • Be free from any criminal conviction by a court of law.
  • Possess a valid birth certificate issued by the National Population Commission, Hospital, or Local Government Council, or a valid age declaration.
  • Possess a certificate of state of origin duly signed by the local government authority.

Meet the height requirement:

  • Minimum of 1.68 meters for males
  • Minimum of 1.65 meters for females

Meet the age requirement:

  • 18–22 years for Non-Tradesmen/Women
  • 18–26 years for Tradesmen/Women (as of December 30, 2025)
