UNESCO Great Wall China Scholarship Details
Applications are open for the UNESCO/China Great Wall Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme 2026–2027, offering fully funded opportunities for postgraduate study and research in China.
The scholarship is designed for students and researchers from 135 developing countries, providing tuition, accommodation, and a monthly stipend. Countries benefiting from the UNESCO-China Fund-in-Trust (CFIT) are encouraged to submit candidates, especially in Education-related fields.
UNESCO strongly encourages applications from women, African countries, and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

Eligibility Requirements
You must meet the following criteria to be considered:
General & Senior Visiting Scholar Programmes (One-Year)
General Scholar:
- Must hold a high school diploma
- Must be 45 years old or younger
Senior Scholar:
- Must hold a master’s degree or be an associate professor (or above)
- Must be 50 years old or younger
Language:
- English proficiency required
- For Chinese-taught programmes: HSK Level 3
Degree Programmes
Master’s Degree Applicants:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree
- Must be 35 years old or younger
Doctoral Degree Applicants:
- Must have a master’s degree
- Must be 40 years old or younger
Language:
- English proficiency required
- For Chinese-taught degrees: HSK Level 4
Additional Requirements
- Must meet university admission standards
- Must be in good mental and physical health
