The WAAW (Working to Advance STEM Education for African Women) Foundation Scholarship 2025 is now open for applications!
This prestigious scholarship empowers young African women pursuing undergraduate studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to achieve academic excellence and become change-makers in their communities.
By receiving this scholarship, recipients are encouraged not only to excel in their studies but also to volunteer, mentor, and promote women’s participation in STEM through their university’s STEM Outreach Chapter.
About the WAAW Foundation Scholarship
The WAAW Foundation aims to close the gender gap in STEM fields by supporting brilliant and financially disadvantaged young women across Africa.
Through its scholarship program, the foundation helps female students focus on their education while building leadership and community development skills.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the WAAW Foundation Scholarship 2025, applicants must:
- Be female students of African origin, living and studying in Africa.
- Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program at a recognized university or college in Africa.
- Be studying a STEM-related course (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
- Be a first or second-year student, or a third-year student in a five-year program.
- Be under the age of 32.
- Demonstrate strong academic performance.
- Show financial need.
- Exhibit leadership potential, and active involvement in community service or volunteering.
