The WomenLift Health 2025 Nigeria Signature Leadership Journey Program is a fully funded, 12-month initiative designed to empower mid-career women in Nigeria’s public health sector.
In partnership with the Women In Leadership Advancement Network (WILAN), this program offers a transformative experience aimed at enhancing leadership skills, fostering inclusive networks, and driving impactful change in global health.
Program Overview
- Duration: June 2025 – April 2026
- Format: Hybrid (combining virtual and in-person elements)
- Cost: Fully funded (all program expenses, including travel and lodging, are covered)
- Time Commitment: Approximately 4-8 hours per month
- Application Deadline: January 31, 2025
- Notification of Acceptance: February 2025

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Gender: Identify as a woman.
- Professional Experience: Possess 10-20 years of experience in public health policy, practice, or research.
- Residency: Reside and work within Nigeria.
- Nationality: Be a national of Nigeria.
- Professional Role: Engage in work that focuses on public health policy, practice, and/or research, serving populations at the national level in Nigeria. This includes roles such as practicing public health in hospitals and health centers, producing research and innovation, creating or implementing policy, and managing teams, departments, projects, or grants.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in written and verbal English to effectively participate in the program’s activities.

- Hybrid Learning Modules: Engage in both virtual and in-person sessions that explore leadership frameworks, research, and tools through interactive workshops and discussions. These sessions focus on personal and professional growth, addressing relevant topics and priorities in health leadership.
- Virtual Mentorship: Be paired with senior-level leaders from diverse backgrounds within the health sector who will provide personalized guidance and support. Mentoring groups are formed based on complementary backgrounds and professional trajectories, offering technical and career resources throughout the journey.
- One-on-One Coaching: Receive individualized coaching to build on strengths and address areas for growth. Leadership style assessments, including a 360-degree evaluation, will inform these sessions, enhancing participants’ understanding of their leadership skills and paving the way for more effective leadership.
