Job Overview
The Graduate Trainee – Metallurgical & Materials Engineering role is designed to support engineering and production teams in improving materials and metallurgical processes.
Selected candidates will gain practical exposure to material testing, failure analysis, quality control, and manufacturing processes, while building strong professional engineering skills under expert supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in metallurgical testing and material characterization (hardness, tensile, microstructure analysis)
- Support evaluation of metals, alloys, and production materials
- Participate in failure analysis to identify defects and breakdown causes
- Assist with quality control and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Support process improvement for better efficiency and product quality
- Prepare technical reports and documentation
- Monitor processes such as heat treatment, casting, welding, and fabrication
- Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations
- Participate in training and mentorship programmes

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- 0–2 years experience (Entry-level role)
- Must have completed NYSC
- Basic knowledge of metallurgical processes and material testing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (engineering software is an advantage)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented industrial environment
