The Women Environmental Programme (WEP) is inviting applications for its 3-Month Digital Skills Development Programme under the WomenPower2030: Feminist Accelerate Action for Sustainable Development Project.
This fully funded initiative is designed to equip young girls, women, and persons with disabilities with practical digital and ICT skills that enhance employability, entrepreneurship, and participation in the digital economy.
About the WomenPower2030 Project
The WomenPower2030 project is a Financial Framework Partnership Agreement (FFPA) between the European Union and a consortium of five feminist organizations led by Women Engage for a Common Future (WECF). The initiative seeks to:
- Strengthen the capacity of feminist civil society organizations and networks.
- Promote gender-equal sustainable development.
- Influence policies and legislation that advance women’s rights.
- Mobilize women, youth, and gender-diverse activists to drive collective action for sustainable development.
The Women Environmental Programme (WEP) is one of the implementing partners of this global project.
About the Digital Skills Development Programme
The free 12-week Digital Skills Development Programme provides intensive, hands-on training designed to prepare participants with practical, job-ready digital skills.

Courses Available
Participants can apply to receive training in one of the following areas:
1. Office Suite Essentials
Build a strong foundation in computer literacy by learning how to use essential productivity tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Participants will also develop skills in digital file management, communication tools, and workplace productivity applicable to academic, business, and professional environments.
2. Graphic Design
Learn the fundamentals of visual design using industry-standard tools such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop. Participants will create professional graphics, branding materials, and social media content while developing a portfolio for employment or freelance opportunities.
3. Video Editing
Acquire practical skills in video planning, editing, storytelling, and visual communication using beginner-friendly editing software. The course prepares participants to create engaging content for businesses, advocacy campaigns, education, and digital media.
4. UI/UX Design
Gain an introduction to User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design using Figma. Participants will learn wireframing, prototyping, user journey mapping, and accessibility principles while building a beginner-friendly design portfolio.
5. Web Development with WordPress CMS
Develop practical website creation skills using WordPress, the world’s leading content management system. The course covers website setup, theme customization, plugin integration, and website management, enabling participants to build responsive websites without advanced coding knowledge.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a young girl, woman, or person with a disability.
- Be between 15 and 35 years of age.
- Have a genuine interest in digital skills and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
- Be a resident of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
- Be available and committed to completing the entire 12-week training programme.
