Key Details
- Type: Full-time, 12-month renewable (subject to funding & performance)
- Compensation: ₦300,000 – ₦385,000 gross per month + benefits
- Locations: One position each in Kano, Jigawa, Kebbi, and Sokoto States (4 roles in total)

Position Overview
The Data Verification Officer (DVO) plays a key role in ensuring that Lafiya’s programmes are delivered with accuracy, accountability, and integrity.
Working closely with the Program Officer and reporting to the central M&E team, the DVO will be responsible for verifying programme data, conducting independent checks, and ensuring the reliability of insights from the field.
This role involves regular field visits, data verification, and close interaction with Lafiya Sisters, facility staff, and the Central Medical Store.
The DVO will not lead on stakeholder management or strategy but will provide the verified data and insights that drive decisions at both the state and central levels.

Responsibilities
As a Data Verification Officer, you will:
- Support the Program Officer in day-to-day programme follow-up and ensure activities are on track.
- Conduct spot checks on Lafiya Sisters’ performance, counselling quality, and protocol adherence.
- Verify the accuracy of reports from Lafiya Sisters and Program Officers; escalate discrepancies to the central M&E team.
- Act as the liaison between the state team and the central M&E unit, ensuring timely and reliable data flow.
- Support training and refresher sessions on data collection and reporting standards.
- Conduct weekly cycle counts of contraceptives at the Central Medical Store and reconcile stock balances.
- Flag and support resolution of supply chain and logistics issues.
- Maintain professional relationships with facility staff, CMS staff, and Lafiya Sisters.
- Summarise and share verification findings to strengthen programme quality.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Statistics, Social Sciences, or related fields (or equivalent experience).
- At least 2 years’ experience in M&E, data collection, or programme operations.
Skills & Qualities
- Proficiency in data entry, verification, and analysis using Excel or Google Sheets.
- Experience with digital data collection tools (e.g., SurveyCTO).
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Hausa.
- High integrity, with a commitment to accurate reporting and safeguarding.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the state, including rural communities.
