Mastercard TAGDev Scholarship Details:
The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) in partnership with Mastercard Foundation and several other universities in Africa, is offering the Mastercard TAGDev Scholarship.
The Transforming African Agricultural Universities to Meaningfully Contribute to Africa’s Growth and Development (TAGDev 2.0) program seeks to strengthen universities and TVET institutions to better serve communities by skilling and empowering Africa’s young people and their institutions to drive inclusive, equitable and climate resilient transformation of agriculture and agrifood systems.
The program will support young African students that are economically disadvantaged but academically competent to enable them complete their studies.
Eligibility Requirements for Mastercard TAGDev Scholarship 2024
To be considered for the Mastercard TAGDev Scholarship 2024, you must:
- Be a national of Uganda and East African countries implementing the common East Africa Higher Education Protocol (Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan).
- Be economically disadvantaged, from marginalized communities, and/or coming from conflict and post-conflict areas in Uganda.
- Be less than 30 years for undergraduate and less than 35 years for master’s studies at the time of this call.
- Should have completed secondary school and/ or diploma for a Bachelor’s degree application not more than two years from the time of this call. For refugees and internally displaced persons, they should have completed their studies at the previous level at most four years before.
- The applicant should meet admission criteria to the eligible Programmes in Gulu University.
- Demonstrate interest in agriculture, agribusiness and entrepreneurship

- Have a strong commitment to community transformation.
- Female candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
