How GSoC Works
- Students & Developers: Submit project ideas to participating open-source organizations.
- Organizations: Review proposals and select contributors for the summer program.
- Start Coding: Accepted applicants are paired with mentors and begin work on their projects.
- Submit: Complete and submit your project within the program period.
Eligibility Criteria for 2026
- Must not reside in a U.S.-embargoed country
- Age Requirement: 18 years or older at registration
- Experience Level: Beginner in open-source development or a student
- Participation Limit: Can only be accepted as a GSoC contributor once
- Proposal Submissions: Up to 3 project proposals allowed, either to different organizations or multiple to the same organization
