Nigeria has launched the Youth Green Jobs Fellowship, a transformative program designed to equip young people with in-demand skills in renewable energy, sustainability, and digital media.
Led by Advocacy for Policy and Innovation in partnership with the House Committee on Renewable Energy, and supported by the INCLUDE Knowledge Platform under the Africa Policy Dialogues Renewable Energy Digital Media Fellowship, this initiative is set to create the next generation of green economy leaders.

About the Fellowship
The fellowship is a 12-week program aimed at bridging the skills gap in Nigeria’s growing green economy while creating meaningful employment opportunities for young people.
Phase 1: Intensive Training (2 weeks)
Participants receive hands-on training in:
- Digital media for renewable energy
- Curriculum vitae (CV) development
- Artificial intelligence in content creation
- Visual design and blogging
- Technical and vocational skills through classroom + practical learning
Phase 2: Practical Placement
After the training, fellows are placed in organizations within the green economy to:
- Gain real-world experience through internships and apprenticeships
- Receive mentorship to guide their professional growth
- Apply technical and communication skills in sustainability-focused roles
