The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria was established in 1968 as the Personnel Management Association of Nigeria and serves as the umbrella body for personnel management and human resource practitioners in the country.
The annual essay competition encourages students to contribute meaningful ideas on workplace and human resource-related issues while promoting academic excellence and professional development.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the 2026 CIPM Essay Competition, applicants must:
- Be an undergraduate student of a Nigerian university or polytechnic
- Submit an original and empirical essay of international journal standard
- Ensure the essay does not exceed 3,000 words
- Use APA referencing style
- Type the essay in Times New Roman, font size 12
- Use double line spacing and submit in MS Word format only
- Avoid all forms of plagiarism, as plagiarized entries will be disqualified

- 1st Prize: ₦300,000 + 2 HRM Books
- 2nd Prize: ₦250,000 + 2 HRM Books
- 3rd Prize: ₦200,000 + 2 HRM Books
