Applications are now open for the David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship Programme 2026/2027, a fully funded undergraduate scholarship opportunity for outstanding young Africans who wish to study in Nigeria.

About the Scholarship Programme

The David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship Programme is a merit based and need dependent scholarship designed to support exceptional African students who may not have the financial resources to pursue university education.

The scholarship aims to develop future leaders by giving students access to quality education and leadership opportunities at Covenant University and Landmark University.

The programme focuses on students who demonstrate:

Scholarship Coverage

The scholarship covers:

  • Full academic tuition fees
  • Up to a maximum of 5 years of study
  • Coverage based on the approved duration of the chosen course

What the Scholarship Does Not Cover

The scholarship does not cover:

  • Travel expenses
  • Feeding allowances
  • Medical or health insurance
  • Personal expenses
  • Non academic fees outside university tuition

Who Can Apply

The scholarship is open to young Africans who meet the following criteria:

  • Must be citizens and permanent residents of an African country
  • Must be between 16 and 25 years old at the time of application
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Nigerian student visa
  • Must be proficient in English language
  • Must demonstrate excellent academic performance

Applicants must also meet at least one of the following academic benchmarks:

  • Minimum of 240 in JAMB (for Nigerian applicants only)
  • At least 80% average score in secondary school
  • Minimum GPA of 4.0/5.0 in secondary school transcript

Applicants must also have already started admission applications to:

  • Covenant University
  • Landmark University

Selection Process

The scholarship selection process is competitive, merit based, and need dependent.

After the application deadline:

  • Eligible applications will be reviewed
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews
  • Interviews will be conducted online through video conferencing

Finalists may be required to provide:

  • Proof of application to Covenant or Landmark University
  • Proof of citizenship
  • Original copies of uploaded documents

Recommendation Requirements

Applicants must provide:

  • An academic referee
  • A religious referee

Recommendation letters from both referees must be uploaded during the application.

Essay Section

Applicants are required to answer:

  • Maximum of 500 words per essay

The essays are used to assess leadership potential, goals, values, and motivation.
