Fully Funded Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Local Masters Scholarship 2025/26 for Nigerians Youth
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for its 2025/2026 Local Master’s Postgraduate Scholarship Programme.
This initiative is part of the Commission’s ongoing commitment to building human capital in the Niger Delta region.
Through this scholarship, NDDC aims to equip young professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute meaningfully to both regional development and the Federal Government’s Local Content Programme.
About the Scholarship
The programme supports postgraduate (Master’s) studies in accredited Nigerian universities, focusing on key disciplines essential for national growth and development. It is specifically designed for qualified indigenes of the Niger Delta region, and seeks to promote academic excellence, professional competence, and global competitiveness.

Eligible Fields of Study
Applicants must hold relevant Bachelor’s Degrees in the following disciplines:
- Agricultural Sciences
- Architecture
- Engineering
- Environmental Sciences
- Geosciences
- Humanities
- Information Technology
- Law
- Management & Social Sciences
- Medical Sciences
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be an indigene of the Niger Delta Region
- Be no older than 40 years
- Hold a First Class, Second Class Upper, or Second Class Lower Bachelor’s Degree, OR A Higher National Diploma (HND) with Upper Credit, plus a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
- Have secured admission into a recognized Nigerian university for a Master’s programme
- Possess a valid Local Government Identification

Selection Process
The selection process includes several stages:
- Online Application: Submit your application via the official NDDC website.
- Preliminary Shortlisting: Based on academic qualifications, WASSCE/NECO results, and LG identification.
- Computer-Based Test (CBT): Shortlisted applicants will sit for a CBT in designated centres located in Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Rivers States. Candidates must score at least 70% to proceed.
- Oral Interview: Further shortlisting will be based on CBT results.
- Final Verification: Final screening will be conducted through the applicant’s Local Government and Community Development Committees.
Note: Candidates must choose their preferred test location on the application portal.
How to Apply
Visit www.nddc.gov.ng to complete your application. Ensure the following documents are uploaded:
- A recent passport photograph
- Local Government Identification Letter
- Admission letter into a Nigerian university for postgraduate studies
- Copies of relevant academic certificates
- NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate
Upon submission, a registration number will be generated automatically. Applicants should print the acknowledgment slip for reference.
Application Deadline: July 20, 2025
Important Notes
- Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted at each stage.
- Preference will be given to applicants from oil-producing host communities/local government areas who meet the cut-off mark.
- Course distribution will be fairly spread across each state.
- No deferment, change of institution, or course is allowed.
- NDDC reserves the right to make final selections based on set criteria and internal considerations.
