How to Apply for the Federal Government CREDITCORPS Loan

The Federal Government of Nigeria has begun accepting applications for a digital device loan scheme through the new Credit for Laptops, Internet, Connectivity and Knowledge Digital Devices (C.L.I.C.K.D.) program.

The initiative allows Nigerians to own laptops, smartphones, tablets, and other digital devices by paying for them in installments instead of making a full upfront payment.

The program is being implemented by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.

The scheme was launched in Abuja, where the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, and the Managing Director/CEO of CREDICORP, Uzoma Nwagba, explained that its goal is to make digital devices more affordable and accessible to Nigerians.

In its first phase, the program focuses primarily on laptops assembled in Nigeria to support local manufacturing.

How to Apply

Interested applicants should follow these steps:

1. Visit the CREDICORP website at credicorp.ng/clickd.
2. Click “I’m Interested” to open the application form.
3. Complete the required information, including:
   • Your state of residence.
   • Your status (employee, artisan, business owner, student, job seeker, or NYSC member).
   • Your monthly income (if requested).
   • The digital skills training program you belong to, such as:
     • 3MTT
     • Andela Learning Community
     • Learn2Earn
     • ALX
     • HNG Internship
     • AltSchool Africa
     • Genesys Tech Hub
     • Or another relevant program.
   • The device you want (laptop, smartphone, tablet, or another digital device).
   • The reason you need the device (education, work, business, software development, content creation, etc.).
   • How you heard about the program.

After completing the form, applicants must:

• Confirm that the information provided is accurate.
• Consent to being contacted regarding their application.
• Authorize CREDICORP and its partners to assess their eligibility before submitting the application.

Who Is Currently Eligible?

At present, the pilot phase of the program is limited to participants of the Federal Government’s Three Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program.

According to CREDICORP:

• 1,000 laptops have been allocated for the pilot phase.
• Distribution began in Abuja, where the first 77 beneficiaries received their laptops.
• Distribution will continue for other eligible beneficiaries across different states.

However, the application form also allows applicants to select other digital skills training programs such as ALX, Andela Learning Community, HNG Internship, AltSchool Africa, Learn2Earn, and Genesys Tech Hub, suggesting that participants in these programs may become eligible as the scheme expands in the future.
