Scope of the Fund

The L’Oréal Fund for Women operates internationally and welcomes projects based in any country, whether they are in the design, implementation, or operational phase. This means that organizations at any stage of their initiative can apply, making the fund a flexible and supportive resource for a wide range of projects.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the L’Oréal Fund for Women 2024, organizations must meet the following criteria:

  1. Relevance of the Organization:
    • Must be a grassroots non-profit or not-for-profit organization, recognized for its philanthropic work.
    • Must be a non-distributing entity, meaning it cannot allocate profits to members or stakeholders.
    • Should have been in existence for at least two years (exceptions for organizations with highly innovative and documented approaches).
    • Must serve at least 200 beneficiaries per year.
  2. Nature of the Project:
    • The project should benefit highly vulnerable women or girls facing poverty, violence, displacement, or disability.
    • For organizations outside the EU, beneficiaries must be in precarious or emergency situations.
    • The project should focus on empowerment, specifically on improving social or professional integration or access to education.
  3. Other Requirements:
    • The requested budget should align with the project’s needs and not exceed 30% of the organization’s total budget.
    • Organizations must have secured other sources of funding or identified additional support.
    • First-time applicants should request one-year support before seeking multi-year funding.

Ineligible Applications

The fund will not support activities or organizations that:

  • Violate internationally recognized UN standards related to human rights, labor rights, or environmental responsibility.
  • Have negative liabilities or controversies.
  • Are affiliated with religious, political, or military goals.
  • Engage in child labor, forced labor, or activities that harm the environment or people’s well-being.
