National Youth Data Bank Registration 2026 | How to Register and Eligibility Requirements
The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched the National Youth Data Bank (NYDB), a nationwide initiative designed to register Nigerians aged 15 to 35 and create a comprehensive database of young people across the country.
Who Can Register?
Nigerians aged 15 to 35 years are eligible to register.
The registration covers young people in both the formal and informal sectors, including those involved in:
- Agriculture
- Technology
- Sports
- Creative industries
- Education
- Other sectors and areas of livelihood

Why Is the Government Registering Young Nigerians?
According to the Federal Government, the National Youth Data Bank will help provide information on young Nigerians, including:
- Where they live
- Their skills and areas of expertise
- Their employment needs
- Their skills development needs
- The types of government youth programmes and interventions that may be suitable for them
The information collected is intended to help the government better understand the needs of young Nigerians and connect them with available employment, training, skills development and other opportunities.
Where Will Registration Take Place?
Registration points have reportedly been established in:
- Secondary schools
- Polytechnics
- Universities
- Colleges of Education

The registration exercise is expected to expand beyond these institutions to wards and all 774 Local Government Areas across Nigeria.
Enumerators are also expected to reach young people in informal communities and hard-to-reach areas to ensure that young Nigerians outside formal institutions are included.
Is This a One-Time Registration?
No. The National Youth Data Bank is described as a standing government programme.
The database is expected to be updated on a rolling basis, meaning it can continue to be updated as young Nigerians enter the eligible age bracket.
The 15 to 35 age range follows the age bracket recognised under the Nigerian Youth Policy.
What Young Nigerians Should Know
Young Nigerians within the eligible age range are encouraged to participate in the registration exercise when registration points or government enumerators become available in their communities.
The initiative is intended to give the government better information about the country’s young population and their skills, employment needs and development needs, which can be used to inform future youth-focused programmes and interventions.
