About the Role: Project Officer for Nigerian Youth
The Project Officer for Nigerian Youth role at RedAid is a vital position, directly contributing to the success of the organization’s TB REACH Wave 11 Project.
This groundbreaking pilot initiative integrates service delivery for three critical respiratory health conditions: Tuberculosis (TB), Community-Acquired Pneumonia (CAP), and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
The selected candidate will collaborate with RedAid staff, project teams, healthcare workers, and community stakeholders to implement project activities in rural and underserved areas of Delta and Edo States.
This is a dynamic role requiring flexibility, problem-solving skills, and the ability to travel on short notice to tackle urgent implementation challenges.

Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Assistance and Capacity Building
- Provide technical support to project teams and healthcare workers, ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines and operational standards for managing TB, CAP, and COPD.
- Facilitate capacity-building workshops, on-site supervision, and mentoring for healthcare providers to improve screening, diagnosis, and treatment protocols.
- Train health workers on utilizing advanced digital tools such as AI-powered chest X-rays, Piko-6 spirometry devices, and other innovative diagnostic technologies.
2. Project Implementation
- Oversee the planning and execution of integrated case-finding activities and care services, both at healthcare facilities and in communities.
- Monitor data collection, documentation, and analysis to evaluate project performance and make informed decisions.
- Ensure the timely and effective implementation of project activities in alignment with the work plan and organizational objectives.
- Conduct routine field visits to Local Government Areas (LGAs) to support staff and address challenges that may affect project outcomes.
3. Stakeholder Engagement and Community Relations
- Collaborate with community leaders and gatekeepers to secure trust and encourage active participation in healthcare interventions.
- Align project activities with local, state, and national health programs to foster sustainability and integration beyond the project lifecycle.
- Strengthen partnerships with public health agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and development partners to enhance project impact.
4. Monitoring, Reporting, and Knowledge Sharing
- Execute monitoring and evaluation (M&E) strategies to track project progress and outcomes effectively.
- Compile and submit detailed project reports, including success stories, challenges, and recommendations for scaling up integrated service delivery in Nigeria.
- Conduct project assessments and operational research to identify best practices and lessons learned.
- Stay informed about global trends in lung health and integrated healthcare delivery, incorporating new insights into the project.
5. Documentation and Advocacy
- Document impactful stories, challenges, and innovations observed during project implementation to advocate for improved healthcare delivery.
- Share findings and recommendations through presentations, reports, and publications to influence policy and practice in integrated disease management.
6. Other Duties
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned, aligned with the broader mission of RedAid Nigeria.

Candidate Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Public Health, or a related field (e.g., MBBS).
- Advanced qualifications such as a Master’s degree in Public Health or a Fellowship will be an added advantage.
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years’ post-graduate experience in public health programs or project management, with a focus on TB, HIV, CAP, COPD, or related conditions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Nigerian healthcare system, especially in integrated health programming or clinical implementation of multi-disease initiatives.
- Expertise in health system strengthening, community engagement, and capacity building.
- Proficiency in using digital health tools and diagnostic technologies is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support project implementation.
