Program Tracks
Young Professionals join the WBG through two tracks:
- Operations Track – working on frontline development projects and strategies.
- Specialized Functions Track – focused on technical, financial, and policy-related expertise.
- YPs begin on a two-year renewable term, after which successful professionals may be offered a five-year renewable contract based on performance.

Eligibility Criteria for the 2025 YPP
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Academic Qualification
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in a relevant field (or higher qualification).
- Degree must be completed before September 1, 2026.
- Doctoral candidates may apply if their dissertation work is substantially complete before this date.
- Work Experience
- 2 to 6 years of relevant professional experience.
- Doctoral research may count toward required experience if full-time.
- Citizenship
- Must be a national of a World Bank Group member country, as evidenced by a valid passport.
Language Requirements
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in additional languages is an added advantage.
- Employment Status
- Must not currently be a WBG staff member.
- Cannot hold an ET or ST contract at the time of application.
- JPAs (Junior Professional Associates) and former WBG interns are eligible if their contracts end on or before September 30, 2025.

Important Notes
The YPP does not allow deferred entry—candidates must be available to start on September 1, 2026.
